Community involvement

At Pelaw Main Public School, we value and encourage strong partnerships with our families and the wider community. Parents and carers are invited to get involved through our Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C) or by volunteering in various areas of school life.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a dedicated group of parents, carers, and community members who work together to support our school. The P&C assists with school planning, fundraising, events, and volunteer activities. Together, we help promote and enhance the educational experience for all students.

Joining the P&C is a fantastic way to meet other families, stay connected with school initiatives, and make a meaningful contribution to the future of our school. We warmly welcome new members and would love to have you involved.

Attend a P&C Meeting
We usually hold two general meetings each term, currently on Tuesday evenings at 6:00pm at the school. This schedule may change depending on member availability to ensure meetings are as accessible as possible.

Meeting dates and updates are shared via the Facebook group.

Each year in March, we hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we nominate and elect our four office bearers:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer

Become a member
A membership form is available at the school office — simply fill it out and return it.
Membership is only $2 per year.

New members are always welcome — we’d love to have you involved in supporting our school!

Volunteer at our school

Volunteering at our school is a fantastic way to get involved and make a positive contribution to the Pelaw Main Public School community.

There are many ways you can lend a hand, including:

• Getting involved with the P&C Association
• Assisting with breakfast club (Tuesdays & Thursdays Mornings)
• Assisting in the canteen (Wednesdays & Fridays)
• Supporting school events
• Library assistance
• Gardening
