Preparing for the bush fire season.

As Pelaw Main Public School has been identified as being in a Bush Fire Prone Area, the Department of Education and Communities has a website to provide parents with up to date information on bushfire conditions in the local area.

In the event of a required evacuation at the school, staff will escort students to Jacob's Park to assemble and account for all personnel. If Jacob's Park is considered unsafe to assemble, students will be escorted to Centenary Park soccer field for pick up. The school will continue to escort students to Kurri Kurri Central cricket field as the pickup point for parents and caregivers, if the previous two locations are deemed unsafe. The school will endeavour to contact all parents, in the event of a required evacuation.
